Woman in the Wilderness
This journal belongs to me, Shannon Doyal. I am currently a student at Wright State for my Bachelor's degree in English, Professional and Technical Writing. A part of that program is a class called Woods and Wilderness, which looks at the American conception of "wilderness", preservation and the appreciation of the wild in different aspects through readings and discussions. This website is a product of the writing assignments and additional materials from this capstone course.
As a woman who does not look like the traditional "outdoors" type, I am a big advocate for people of all types to explore nature. I have studied and practiced bushcraft, survival, and all things nature related since my time in the military. I believe my many varied life experiences gives me a unique perspective on the subjects presented.
